🔍 In-depth analysis

The Hagibis Heat Dissipation Fin Cover is a specialized cooling accessory designed specifically for the MC100 Magnetic M.2 2230 NVMe SSD Enclosure. In the world of high-speed mobile storage, heat is the primary enemy of performance, often leading to thermal throttling during intensive tasks like recording 4K ProRes video directly to an external drive. This accessory addresses that specific pain point by adding surface area to the enclosure, which helps dissipate heat more effectively than a flat surface alone. Since it is tailored for the MagSafe ecosystem, it maintains the convenience of a magnetic attachment while attempting to prolong the lifespan and speed of your drive.

With several hundred orders and a very strong buyer rating, this product has clearly found its niche among mobile creators and tech enthusiasts. Hagibis is a well-regarded brand in the connectivity and storage space, and this add-on follows their trend of modular, problem-solving accessories. At the current discount, it serves as a functional upgrade for users who already own the base enclosure and want to ensure their data transfers remain stable under heavy workloads.

✅ Pros

Highly rated by over 300 buyers, indicating reliable real-world performance and fit.
Specifically engineered to solve thermal throttling in the small-form-factor 2230 SSD category.
Seamlessly integrates with the MagSafe ecosystem for a cable-free look and feel.
Offered at a significant discount compared to the original list price, making it an affordable performance tweak.

Cons and cautions

Highly proprietary design that is unlikely to fit any other SSD enclosure brands or models.
Increases the physical profile and weight of the mobile storage setup, which may affect pocketability.

From our data

Price moved between $4.68 and $5.26 since 28 Sep (32 tracked days)

This analysis is written with an AI model from the product data (name, category, price, rating and orders), not from a hands-on test. How we choose and score

Who it's for: This is specifically for owners of the Hagibis MC100 enclosure who use their M.2 2230 SSDs for high-bandwidth tasks. It is ideal for iPhone power users who record video to external storage and want to prevent heat-related slowdowns.

Who should skip it: This accessory is not for users who do not own the specific MC100 model. It is also unsuitable for those using standard 2280 SSD enclosures or phones without MagSafe-compatible magnetic mounting capabilities.

🔎 Check before you buy

Confirm with the seller whether thermal pads are included with the cover or if they must be purchased separately.
Verify if the added thickness of the fins will interfere with your specific smartphone case's magnetic strength.
Ask the seller about the specific material of the fins to ensure optimal thermal conductivity for your needs.

💰 Value verdict: Given the high buyer rating and the current price point, this fin cover represents excellent value for power users. While it is a simple accessory, the performance stability it provides during long data transfers justifies the cost, especially considering the current discount relative to its original price.

💡 Tips

Ensure the surface of your MC100 enclosure is completely clean and free of oils before attaching the cover for the best heat transfer.
If you find the magnets feel weaker through a thick case, consider using a MagSafe-compatible ring on the outside of your case to ensure the enclosure stays sec
