๐ In-depth analysis
The XPPen Star G640 (Version B) is a compact 6-inch graphic tablet designed specifically for high-speed tasks like playing OSU! or participating in digital education and remote meetings. With a high pressure sensitivity level of 8192, it aims to provide a responsive experience for those transitioning from a mouse to a stylus. The slim profile makes it highly portable, fitting easily into laptop bags for students or professionals on the move. While it is marketed toward digital art, its smaller active area suggests it is most efficient for quick sketches, photo editing, or handwriting notes rather than large-scale professional illustrations.
This specific listing shows a significant volume of orders and a very high buyer rating, which indicates a consistent level of quality and shipping reliability. The Version B designation is an important detail to note, as it often implies specific hardware revisions or compatibility updates compared to the original model. Given the established reputation of the brand in the entry-level tablet market, this device serves as a functional tool for those who need a reliable digital input method without the bulk of a full-sized professional monitor.
โ Pros
High pressure sensitivity allows for nuanced control in drawing and writing applications.
Extremely high buyer rating suggests high satisfaction with the build quality and performance.
Compact 6-inch size is perfect for limited desk space and high portability.
Battery-free stylus eliminates the need to charge the pen during long sessions.
Cons and cautions
Small active area may feel restrictive for users accustomed to large arm movements while drawing.
The thin design, while portable, may feel less substantial than higher-end professional models.
