This listing offers a pair of rear tailgate gas struts intended for the Audi Q5. When factory lift supports age, they lose pressure, leading to a trunk lid that drops suddenly or refuses to stay open. Replacing them in pairs is standard practice to maintain balanced pressure across both hinges, and this package provides both the left and right struts together.
While the current discount brings the item to an appealing price tier compared to dealership parts, caution is warranted. The listing has recorded only three purchases so far and currently lacks buyer feedback and ratings. Because vehicle lift supports require precise lengths, end fittings, and Newton force ratings, you should thoroughly vet vehicle compatibility before making a purchase.
✅ Pros
- Sold as a complete pair to ensure even pressure and synchronized tailgate operation.
- Priced attractively under a substantial markdown relative to original dealership parts.
- Targets a specific common maintenance issue for Audi Q5 owners.
Cons and cautions
- Extremely low order volume with just three units sold to date.
- No buyer rating or community feedback available to gauge durability and ease of installation.
- Key engineering specs like pressure ratings and year ranges are omitted from the basic title.
- No buyer rating yet
- Few orders so far (4)
- Price moved between $16.36 and $18.23 since 28 Sep (15 tracked days)
Who it's for: Audi Q5 owners dealing with a sagging or failing rear hatch who want a budget-friendly pair of replacement struts and are comfortable verifying fitment directly with the seller.
Who should skip it: Those who do not own an Audi Q5, owners needing replacements backed by dozens of verified buyer reviews, or those unwilling to confirm technical dimensions prior to ordering.
🔎 Check before you buy
- Confirm the exact Audi Q5 generation and model years supported by these struts.
- Verify whether these are meant for manual tailgates or vehicles equipped with power liftgate systems.
- Ask the seller for the extended length, stroke length, and force rating (in Newtons) to compare against your factory parts.
- Check the seller's return policy in case the ball joints or overall lengths do not match your vehicle.
💡 Tips
- Inspect the part number and Newton rating printed on your existing factory struts and send a photo to the seller to ensure an exact match.
- Always secure the tailgate with a sturdy support rod or have a helper hold it firmly while removing and installing the new struts.
- Replace both sides during the same session to avoid uneven mechanical stress on the tailgate hinges.
