This is an aftermarket charging coil designed for outboard boat motors, typically categorized under vehicle and marine accessories. Located within the ignition system, its primary role is to generate the electrical current needed to keep the onboard battery charged or to power the engine's electronics while running. For boat owners dealing with a failing stator or charging issues, finding a direct replacement component is essential for maintaining electrical reliability on the water.
The listing is currently in its early stages on the platform, showing a very low number of orders and no user ratings to date. While the product is presented as a high-quality replacement, the lack of community feedback means potential buyers are acting as early adopters. Given the technical nature of marine engine components, this item requires careful scrutiny regarding its electrical output and physical fitment to ensure it matches your specific outboard configuration.
✅ Pros
- The current discount makes it a significantly more affordable option than sourcing a brand-name replacement from a local dealership.
- It provides a specialized solution for a very specific mechanical problem that can otherwise ground a vessel.
- Replacing just the coil can potentially save a significant amount of money compared to replacing the entire stator assembly.
Cons and cautions
- There is zero buyer feedback or star ratings available, making it impossible to verify the long-term durability of the part.
- The very low order volume suggests this is a relatively new or untested listing, which carries inherent risk for the buyer.
- Delivery to Israel can take up to 22 days
- No buyer rating yet
- Few orders so far (2)
- Price moved between $24.42 and $26.98 since 28 Sep (15 tracked days)
Who it's for: This part is suitable for boat owners or marine hobbyists who are comfortable performing their own engine repairs and are looking for a cost-effective alternative to expensive original equipment manufacturer (OEM) components for a project outboard motor.
Who should skip it: It is not recommended for professional marine technicians who require certified warranties, nor for boaters who cannot afford the risk of a part failing while at sea due to its unverified track record.
🔎 Check before you buy
- Ask the seller for a comprehensive list of compatible outboard motor makes, models, and production years.
- Request high-resolution photos of the connectors and wire colors to ensure they match your existing wiring harness.
- Confirm the exact dimensions of the coil and the mounting hole spacing to avoid fitment issues during installation.
- Inquire about the seller's return policy in case the part does not produce the required voltage upon testing.
💡 Tips
- Before ordering, use a multimeter to confirm that your current coil is actually the source of your engine's charging failure and not a faulty regulator.
- Always compare the physical appearance of your old coil with the listing photos, paying close attention to the number of copper windings and insulation.
